“Most mad scientists are really just mad engineers.” - cowbirds in love #46, “Death Ray”
Hi, welcome to Meow Mercantile! We [1] are two (mad) engineers determined to share our love of cats with the world. It all started in 2012 when we adopted two adorable kittens, Zelda and Midna [2]. Once our third cat, Selena, came to our door and adopted US, it was official -- we were the people with “all those cats” [3]. Our cats are picky about their toys, so we started testing different designs to keep them happy. Thus, Meow Mercantile was born!
So, if you like cats as much as we do, or are looking for a gift for someone who does, you’re in the right place. Our catnip toys are packed with 100% organic catnip from Frontier Co-op, which is a big hit with every cat [4]. For the humans, we also have cat-themed pillow covers, tote bags, candles, stuffed animals, and more. Thanks to our new 3D printer [5], we’re now able to offer even more cat-themed goodies printed in PLA.
Custom Order Policy
We LOVE custom orders! Whether you want a one-of-a-kind cat toy, need a unique gift, or need help impersonating your cat, we can help. We make everything in our shop ourselves, to-order, so customization is easier than you think -- just send us a convo to get started.
Support for Rescue
We are proud supporters of cat rescue and adoption as well as TNR programs [6]! Do you need an item donation for an upcoming auction or fundraiser for your rescue? We want to help! Drop us a message with the details. Want to resell our products at your shelter to raise money year-round? Please contact us for wholesale pricing information.
Local Opportunities
Are you near Charlottesville, Virginia? Come see us at a local event! Past events include the Holiday Market (Downtown) and Walk for the Animals. Follow our social media pages for up-to-date information on where to find us. Are you an event organizer or local retailer? We are looking to expand our local event participation over the coming year, so please reach out to us!
